Arvig Begins Search for Scholarship Applicants

PERHAM, Minn. – Arvig has begun a search for scholarship candidates, according to David Arvig. If selected, candidates will receive a one-time $2,000.00 scholarship from the Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation.

Local telecom companies participating in the MTA’s scholarship program are approaching high schools in their serving areas looking for potential scholarship winners. To be eligible, applicants must be planning on pursuing post-secondary education at either a university, college or technical college, be a Minnesota resident, and the applicant’s family must subscribe to at least one service from Arvig. A telecom alliance panel reviews each application and selects the finalists based on applicants’ grades, academic achievements and extra-curricular activities. Preference is given to students who have an interest in telecommunications technology and rural communities.

The Foundation is part of the Minnesota Telecom Alliance, a trade association representing more than 80 telecommunications providers in the state.
