What does the red light mean on the set top box?
This is the power indicator light, if the light is on, the set- top box is on. If the red light is out and you power up the TV, the display screen on TV will tell you how to power up the set- top box.
I cannot get my VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) to record any programming.
If you are using the RF (Radio Frequency) output on the back of set- top box, the set- top box must be on the channel you want to record and the VCR must be recording on channel 3. If you are using the RCA (A connector with a single central plug commonly used for Audio and a composite video source) output on the set- top, and this is hooked to the RCA input on the VCR, the VCR must be set to record on AUX.
The audio levels seem to be different between channels.
This is common from program to program; however Melrose Telephone Company will look into this and see if we can adjust them. We typically will not be able to make many adjustments but we will try to do our best
I would like to have your TV service on more than three TVs.
Presently there is only enough bandwidth to have three streams being watched at one time. You do have the option to have multiple TV’s hooked to one set- top box watching the same channel.
The remote control will not change channel.
Verify the remote is in the correct mode and the set- top box has a red light on: If this does not work verify the batteries are good. Push the MYRIO button on the remote. Then point the remote at the set- top box and push the channel up/down the channels should change.
I got a new TV and the remote does not work.
You will need to program the new TV in the remote; this can be done manually or automatically. Refer to the users Guide that comes with the remote, this will walk you through step by step. Some TV’s are not compatible with remote.

I forgot my parental control password.
You will need to call the business office during regular working hours. After the Customer Service Representative has verified you are the account holder the password can be reset to the default number and then you may change the password to whatever password you would like to use (minimum of 6 characters alpha/numeric. Ex. Jjk345)
My set top box is powered up but I have NO picture.
Verify the TV set on channel 3 if using the RF coax output on the back of set- top. If using the RCA cable on back of set- top box verify the TV is set on the correct Input.
I cannot get my DMX music to work.
Press the DTV button on the bottom of the remote.
If I have more than one Set Top Box, are the remotes interchangeable between the Set Top Box and TVs?
No: The set-top box functions will work, but the TV functions such as on/off and volume will not work. There are many different brands of TV’s and several hundred remote codes, so each TV will need to be programmed separately.
Do we have the option of buying PPV (Pay Per View)?
Pay per view is presently not available, we do however, continue to look at ways of improving our products so this or something similar may be available in the future.
Does Melrose Telephone offer HD programming?
HD means High Definition, Melrose Telephone Company does NOT offer this at the present time.
What does it mean when they say to re-boot the STB (Set-top Box) or power cycle the modem.
This means to unplug the unit.
